“ I had lunch at Vera's today with my granddaughter and her boyfriend. Our meal was delicious. We had grilled cheese with veggie beef soup Large hot hamburger plate and hamburger steak with okra and deviled eggs. Atmosphere was very friendly and waitress was very attentive as well all other staff too! We'll definitely be back! ”
“ My wife and I have stopped here twice. Bo5h times the experience has been good. They have new owners who are working very hard to make improvements. The lady time we went, I ordered one of the daily specials, it took longer than expected to come out. The cook himself brought the food, apologized for the delay and explained, he didn't like the looks of what was left in the specials pans, so he made fresh. It was outstanding. We will be stopping here regularly. ”
“ Wanting dinner. Not sure where. Googled restaurants in Vanceboro. Discovered Vera's Diner. Perused the menu and hit the road. You'll miss it, if you don't take your time to look for it. Nondescript building...belies the delicious bounty awaiting your taste buds. I ordered the SMALL platter of: Oysters, scallops, and shrimp... fried...I usually get my seafood pan seared or steamed. The coating was more of a dusting of light cornmeal. Everything was cooked perfectly. The oysters exploded with estuary sweet brine flavor; the scallops were nearly the size of a 50¢ piece...sweet and tender; and the shrimp, larger than Calabash, but smaller than cocktail, sweet and delicious; AND LOCAL! Had a salad & Cole slaw as sides. So much of my sea delicacies were left over, I had seconds the next day. Vera's serves Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Open Monday-Saturday. Highway 43, in Vanceboro, NC. I need to check out their Breakfast. ”
“ Local place right here in town. Located on Main Street. Great breakfast. Hearty lunch, and yummy supper. New owners are updating the place for a neat fresh atmosphere. And the service is second to none. I do recommend this place. ”
“ Food was good, portions were good. Server spent more time trying to be smug and work on his flirting skill set with the customers, than making sure we had utinsels or if refills were needed.... But overall not a bad place for grandma/home made style cooking/food. ”
